Katrin studied photography at the former State School of Photography in Munich. During her work placement in Paris, she worked in the editorial department at Magnum Photos and developed a passion for documentary and portrait photography.

She prefers to work with whatever she finds, drawing inspiration from life itself. She seeks out those small, beautiful moments and places them within a broader context. Katrin particularly enjoys working on projects that explore sustainability and our connection to nature. In her photography, she tries to find the last remaining pockets of wilderness (in nature and within people) in a world that has already been discovered.

She also spends a lot of time in the mountains. Whether on short solo excursions with her camera, on long-distance hikes, or as a qualified mountain guide leading a group. But if she had to choose between the mountains and the sea, she would still always choose the ocean. The vastness, the distant views, the flow.
